Tamarac Wedding

Tamarac is a city in Broward County, Florida, United States. The population was 55,588 at the 2000 census. According to the U.S. Census Bureau's 2004 estimates, the city had a population of 59,278. Tamarac is also a school in upstate New York, more commonly know as Brittonkill Central Schools.

Once a fledgling senior retirement community in the early 1960's, a young millionaire named Ken Behring came from the Midwest and bought up all the land and then started to build. He originally made his fortune with a chain of carwashes called Car-A-Mat. He called his new city Tamarac, Car-A-Mat spelled backwards, and the name remains. [1]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 30.8 km (11.9 mi). 29.5 km (11.4 mi) of it is land and 1.3 km (0.5 mi) of it (4.21%) is water.
